PopCap Games, the Seattle-based game developer, has launched its popular and highly addictive mobile game Bookworm for the Apple iPhone. This is a word forming game that can kill your many hours. The company says that the game contains nearly every word appearing in the Oxford English Dictionary plus some exclusive features for the iPhone version.
In the Bookworm game, players form words to earn points. More complicated words give you more points. The game can be played for short bursts of time as well as for long hours. The game exploits several hardware features of iPhone that makes playing experience very intuitive and fast like shaking the iPhone re-scrambles the letters, tracking progress by just tilting the iPhone sideways for a quick view of bonus bookshelf status and word history.
The game can be played in 2 modes Classic and Action. In the turn based Classic game you take your own time to form words while the Action mode game runs in real-time that adds a new red tile every few seconds. In the Action mode, the primary goal is to remove the red tiles before they reach the bottom of the grid and end the game.
The Bookworm game includes vocabulary of over 170,000 words from the Oxford English Dictionary as well as unlimited levels. The mobile game is available at the App Store for $4.99.
