T-Mobile Sidekick LX Smartphone Announced With 3g, GPS And More

Putting an end to a lot of speculations, T-Mobile has finally announced its much hyped new Sidekick LX 2009 officially. The handset is 3G-enabled which facilitates faster web browsing. To woo youth the new Sidekick LX has built-in support for a lot of social networking applications including Facebook, MySpace, Twitter. Then there is GPS-enabled Live Search that lets you do local search and map them using Geotagging. The cellphone comes in two colors: carbon or orchid. Although custom shells are there if you desire personalized touch.

T-Mobile Sidekick LX 2009 is the thinnest Sidekick ever with dimensions of 5.1 inches X 2.3 inches X 0.6 inch and weighs 5.82 ounces. The sharp display consists of the WVGA 3.2 inches screen with an 854x480-pixel resolution based on Sharp's Aquos technology.

T-Mobile Sidekick LX 2009 has borrowed its swivel screen from its predecessor and has full QWERTY keyboard. The phone also comes with a 3.2 megapixel camera with auto focus and flash, LED flash, bluetooth, Youtube viewer, video uploader. There is support for video recording and playback, stereo Bluetooth, quadband EDGE, and HSDPA 2100.

T-Mobile has started the pre-order now. The Sidekick LX is expected to be available by May 13th for a price tag of $199.99 with 2-years service contract and mail-in-rebate. The retail package will include a 1GB microSD card and available in dark gray or maroon color.
