Samsung Jet Touch Screen Mobile Is Faster Than iPhone!

Samsung has just released a new touch screen smartphone that packs more processing power than the latest version of iPhone! Samsung Jet, dubbed as "Smarter Than A Smartphone" has a fast 800MHz processor (iPhone has 600MHz). But Jet is not all about just a better microprocessor but the mobile device also has a brighter display (a 3.1" 400X800 touch screen with WVGA AMOLED display ) that can display sharp images and video.

The handset sports Dolfin, a web browser developed by Samsung itself, that makes browsing the internet on mobile a breeze. Dolfin lets you browse multiple (up to five) web pages simultaneously. Moreover, this device has Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync Email system making suitable for corporate users. One very convenient feature of this phone is one finger zoom. And this zooming capability is not just for photos. One can zoom a text file, a webpage, a pdf document and more.

Samsung Jet boasts of TouchWiz 2.0, the next version of Samsung's proprietary touch interface. This interface brings in a new level of responsiveness to user's experience. To access frequently multimedia features like Photo album, Music player, Video player, FM Radio, Games and internet, this mobile phone has a six sided cube UI. Then there is an intelligent motion engine that gives you access to your various features like speed dialing just by tapping, tilting or flipping the handset.

On entertainment front, the cellphone features music player, DVD quality video recording and playback. The phhone has a powerful 5.0 megapixel camera. The phone supports 3G/HSPDA/EDGE networks. The phone will be available in Indian markets for around Rs. 24,000/-.

Samsung Pixon 12 World's First 12 MP Touch Screen Phone

Samsung has just released what it claims is the world's first 12 megapixel camera phone. Samsung Pixon 12 is a cellphone built for camera-maniacs around the world who just cannot get enough of megapixel power.

Pixon 12 has a lot of camera functions that can well replace your digital camera. The most impressive one is touch auto-focus that enables you to touch a point on the screen and make it a focal point of the image to be captured. Then there is Smart Auto mode that lends enough intelligence to camera to adjust according to conditions like lighting. This handset enables to take snaps very swiftly. One can move to next shot after 2 seconds thanks to its fast image saving capability. Due to presence of 28mm wide angle lens full image capture is a breeze.

Samsung Pixon 12 has a 3.1-inch AMOLED full touch screen display. The cellphone sports 150MB of on-board storage expandable to up to 16GB through MicroSD expansion, internal GPS, and FM radio with RDS.

There is no word on price yet. This phone will be available from end of June, 2009 in European countries. From August it will be made available to other countries.

Samsung Launches 3 Touch Screen Mobiles Star, Star3G And Beat DJ In India

Samsung India has launched three touchscreen cell phones in the country. Samsung Star, Star 3G and Beat DJ are now a part of an array of 7 touch screen phones offered by the company in Indian market. Let us look at the features of each phone in detail.

Samsung Star (S5233) is a 11.9 mm compact phone sporting a 7.63 cm WQVGA full-touch screen. There is a feature called Photo Contact using which one can call a contact by simply touching an image. A stylus is added too. The phone has an impressive 3.2 mega-pixel feature-rich camera with smile recognition. Gesture Control is another feature that the company has started to equip its latest cellphones with. Using Gesture Control one can unlock the Touch Screen or run an application by giving a gesture command.

This phone supports 50MB internal memory which is expandable up to 8GB through memory card. Samsung’s TouchWiz User Interface is another feather in its cap. The phone has music recognition capability utilizing Shazam’s "Find Music" service. There is virtual QWERTY keyboard for messaging and handwriting features. All these features come at an affordable price tag of 11,100/-.

Samsung Star 3G also shares some nifty features of Star S5233 like Gesture control and camera. On internal memory front, this phone has slightly more (80 MB) of internal memory that is again expandable to 8 GB. This device offers full Internet browsing support with an accelerometer sensor for auto-rotation. The phone is 3G compatible. This handset is priced at slightly higher at Rs. 14,499/-.

Samsung BEAT DJ handset to comes with touch screen and sports intuitive and easy to use DISC User Interface. The cell phone has 2.8-inch AMOLED touchscreen display (240 x 400 pixels with 16 million colors). Beat DJ has 50MB internal memory expandable up to up to 16GB. This 3G compatible handset is priced at Rs 18,990/-.

Samsung is eying the big and growing touch screen mobiles market both in high-end and mid size segments. That is why over the past few months the company has released a wide array of cellphones in different markets including Asia, Europe and Latin America. So far as India is concerned, Samsung seems to be in a mood to invest heavily in the country. Economic Times reports that in this calendar the company plans to invest a whopping $5 million at its manufacturing facility in the country. Moreover, Samsung has plans to launch 2 dozen new models in early 2009 and has made it clear that it is taking up 3G and touch screen segment in a big way.

Samsung Launches Two More Touchscreen Cellphones Star S5230 and Preston S5600

These days more and more cellphones with touchscreen are coming up. Every mobile company is bringing up with its own model sporting touchscreen. The stress these days is to enhance the responsiveness and ease of this user interface. Samsung in past has come up with some touchscreen models like S8300 UltraTouch, Sch-W740 Haptic and Pixon M8800 . But it seems like the company sees a huge market for these devices and thus is releasing ever new models. Latest offering by Samsung has two touchscreen phones, Star S5230 and Preston S5600.

Star S5230 and Preston S5600 share some similarities in terms of features like both mobile phones have Samsung’s TouchWiz GUI, accelerometer to flip between portrait and landscape orientations, 3.2 megapixel camera and PMP functionality. But both phone have some unique features of their own so that they are appealing to different customers in global markets.

JK Shin, executive vice president and head of Mobile Communications division at Samsung Electronics says, "Samsung Star and Samsung Preston are significant additions to our full-touch screen mobile portfolio, featuring all the essential functions in one single device."

Samsung Star S5230 supports 2.5G networks. This cellphone boasts of a 3-inch WQVGA display and measures 11.9mm in thickness. The phone has internal storage of 50Mb expandable to 8GB via a memory card slot. Moreover the phone had on-screen QWERTY keyboard. The phone had capability to recognize handwriting. The “Photo Contact” option allows users to call a contact by simply touching an appointed image. The mobile phone comes Soft pink, Snow white and more colors. Company has launched Star S5230 in Europe, Middle East Africa, South East Asia, South West Asia and Latin America. This phone was released in UK with the name of Tocco Lite.

Samsung Preston S5600 supports 3G networks and has 7.2Mbps HSDPA connectivity. The cellphone comes with 80MB of standard memory expandable to 8GB through memory card. This device has 2.8 inch QVGA screen. Samsung Preston is available in Sweet pink, Snow white, and Charcoal Grey colors. The phone is available in Europe and Asia.

There is no word on pricing yet but the popularity can be gauged by the fact that Samsung has already pre-orders for two million handsets.

Samsung SCH-W740 Haptic Touchscreen Phone With 8 Megapixal Camera Released

Samsung has a released its new Haptic (SCH-W740) mobile phone in Korea. The Haptic, Greek word for 'touch', boasts some of the most advanced camera functoins.

The Samsung Haptic sports of an 8 megapixel camera with functions like xenon flash, autofocus, smile shot, face tagging and different scene modes. The display is a big 3.3 inch touchscreen 480 x 800 resolution. The cellphone is equipped with Samsung's Haptic UI. The device also English recognition function that automatically translates the documents.

The Samsung phone has support for HSPA based 3G network, T-DMB digital TV tuning and has a business card scanner. Other features include a TouchWiz interface, Bluetooth connectivity and support for microSD card slot.

Samsung is about to release a very innovative cellphone which can be said to be eco-friendly in true sense. The mobile phone is named Blue Earth. The phone features a solar panel at its back which can charge you phone without requiring any electricity although regular charger is provided too. That charger is intelligent enough to bring down the power consumption to a meager 0.03W when not in use. The phone's casing is made of recycled water bottles. The small and light packaging contains a high degree of recycled materials. The phone is not released officially so not many details are available although looking at the pictures, one can see that advance features like front camera is not there and this implies that there is no support for 3G too. Samsung has launched its 8 MP touchscreen mobile phone Pixon M8800, the first of its kind in India. The main attraction of the phone is its camera which offers image resolution of 3264x2448 with auto-focus, face-recognition, Wide Dynamic Range, Advance Shake Reduction, GPS geo-tagging support, and WSVGA and VGA video recording at 30fps.

The display consists of the 3.2-inch WQVGA large full touchscreen. M8800 has onscreen QWERTY keyboard. What is more, onscreen handwriting recognition for emailing and messaging make it a breeze to use this phone. This Samsung cellphone supports a wide range of video player formats including DivX, Xvid and mp4. It also sports an advanced Music Player with SRS 3D surround sound.

And now the saddest part, its price. This new born baby comes with a price tag of 28,750/-. Conidering the features, the hefty price is justified.
