Nokia has released the younger brother of its popular smartphone N97, N97 Mini in India. And as the name says, the cellphone has subset of features found in the earlier version. The new model looks exactly like its predecessor but is slightly smaller in size. N97 Mini has a 3.2 inches touchscreen display ( the earlier model had 3.5 inches screen), 8 GB memory and a 5 MP snapper. Nokia N97 Mini is available in three colors -- Cherry black, Garnet and White. Recently, the handset won Best Mobile Broadband Handset award as part of the Asian Mobile Awards 2009. The phone costs around 31 thousand bucks.

Nokia has started pushing new mobile phones on touchscreen front. The latest addition to the array of touch screen phones offered by Finnish cellphone maker is Nokia 5530 XpressMusic and as the name indicates, the mobile device is more focused on music and entertainment than any other thing. Moreover, there is a stress on cashing on the popularity of social nwtworking that is evident from the quick access facility to social networks like MySpace.

The music player, widescreen video playback (640×360), a standard 3.5mm audio plug make it a complete entertainment device. What is more useful though is a new contact bar that can hold up to 20 contacts. The bar acts as a quick access to the most frequently contacted persons. What is more, the phone has quick access option to internet, social networks and more. It supports supports GSM/EDGE networks.

Nokia 5530 XpressMusic has a 2.9" touch screen as display. The screen comes with tactile feedback. The handset has a 3.2-megapixel camera, LED flash. Bluetooth, WiFi, and EDGE are supported. Moreover, it has 4GB memory card.

This mobile phone is expected to start shipping by the third quarter of this year and is expected to retail at 199 euros exclusive of taxes initially.

Nokia is launching its most eagerly awaited touch screen handset, Nokia N97 in India soon. In fact the phone has already been launched in the country but the device will start shipping by the second week of June 2009. The cellphone by the Finnish phone maker is touted as one of the most advanced converged device yet.

Nokia N97 has all the features of a smartphone, a tech savvy user may expect. Among the prominent features there is a 3.5 inches screen, five mp camera and a front camera for video calls. The phone is fist device to support Nokia Ovi store that was launched a few weeks ago. Ovi is online store offering downloads like applications and other multimedia content and has been setup on the lines of Apple and BlackBerry app stores. What is more prominent about this new baby is that this device is centered around web. One can connect to friends on the go through Facebook, check mail and more. The handset will be launched with a price tag of Rs. 34K-35K.

Nokia 6208 Classic Touch Screen Mobile In India

Nokia seems to be increasing its presence in Indian touch screen mobiles market. There buzz is that the company is going to release four-five such mobile phones in the country this year. The launch of Nokia 6208 Classic seems to be one more step in the direction after Nokia 5800 XpressMusic.

The touchscreen cellphone was released in China some times ago. 6208 Classic has got a 2.4-inch QVGA display with resolution of 320 x 240 pixels capable of displaying up to 16.7 million colours, multimedia player, FM Radio, handwriting recognition support and a 5-way navi-key. The handset also has a 3.2 megapixel camera with dual LED flash and 8x digital zoom. The phone comes with 64MB of internal memory, which can of course be expanded upto 8GB with microSD cards. There is a 3.5mm jack for earphones. Strangely enough, Wi-Fi or 3G support is missing although EDGE is there.

The one thing that sets Nokia 6208 Classic apart from other phones in the category is that the device is based on S40 platform. The phone will be priced at Rs. 13,259 in India.

Beside trying to cash on the current popularity of these devices, the Finnish cellphone maker is aiming to generate revenue from applications specific to these devices. It is note worthy that recently the company launched its much hyped Ovi app store in some countries and intends to expand these online stores to further countries too. What is more Nokia is planning to release sub 10K touch screen models soon.

Nokia XpressMusic Star Trek Edition Hits UK

Come May 8 and Star Trek fans will flock to see their favourite movie. But this will not the only reason for their excitement. Nokia is all set to release its wildly popular XpressMusic mobile phone Star Trek edition. The phone will have all of the features of the original cellphone plus it will have some custom items that make it irresistible for Star Trak fans.

Nokia XpressMusic Star Trek edition will come with four screensavers, three wallpapers and eight brand new ringtones. What is more, the cellphone will also integrate a Phaser application. The users can choose from blue, red, and black/silver color handsets.

Nokia has released its feature loaded smartphone E75 in India. The cellphone is aimed at mainly business users as is evident from what Vineet Taneja, Marketing Director, Nokia India has to say about the release.

He says, "Business mobility is now a necessity. The power-packed Nokia E75 with Nokia Messaging Service is the definite efficiency tool that offers the complete mobile email functionality and gives consumers an enriched and easy to use email experience while on the move. Connecting to and using email now on will be as easy as using SMS."

The main attraction of Nokia E75 is its messaging service. Nokia messaging service is a very valuable tool for professionals as it allows one to access e-mails from multiple mailboxes of various email service providers through single application. You can do almost anything you do with the desktop version of email application like read, send, forward and reply to emails, access subfolders, download and read attachments or attach files to emails. What is more the service in the country is free as of now whereas in other countries users have to pay premium for this service as the same is launched in collaboration with mobile operators like Orange. Nokia E75, the smartphone from the Finnish cellphone maker has finally arrived at stores. The handset targeted at enterprise and corporate users was announced last February. The features of this mobile phone speak loudly that it will directly compete with BlackBerry phones in open market.
